John here. World Down Syndrome Day is one of my favorite days of the year. It is the day that we celebrate people with Down syndrome, people like me. It is a day to let the world know what people with Down syndrome can do.
John and Mark Cronin of John’s Crazy Socks presented a $998 check to the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center Foundation for their COVID-19 Relief Fund. This donation is part of the Giving Back Program at John’s Crazy Socks.
John's Crazy Socks is developing a Marketplace for products made by businesses owned by, led by, or focused on people with differing abilities. As part of the development process., John’s Crazy Socks is seeking input from businesses that want to participate in the new Marketplace. In January 2021, we raised $3,763.47 for our charity partners. Through January 2021, we have now raised more than $400,000 for our charity partners. Giving Back is an essential part of our mission and we are excited by our ability to support others. We continue to learn that the more we can give, the happier we are.
What’s John’s favorite pair of socks? John would rather tell you why he likes crazy socks than pick any one pair of socks. Why crazy socks? “They’re fun, comfortable and creative. They always let me be me.”
Many schools, organizations and businesses recognize World Down Syndrome Day by wearing crazy socks and holding special events. We are here to help with socks but also a virtual visit from John, concierge services, discounts and even a fundraising program.
John’s Crazy Socks has joined the CEO Commission for Disability Employment, making a commitment to work with other leading firms to expand equal employment rights for people with disabilities.
Today marked a joyous day. John Cronin, co-founder of John’s Crazy Socks, has recovered from the COVID-19 virus and returned to Huntington Hospital to thank the doctors, nurses and staff for the excellent care they gave him so he could recover from the virus.
John said, “What better way to spread some happiness than to send President Biden some of our Cat and Dog Rescue Socks. I will send him some of my Down Syndrome Awareness Socks too.”
December 9th fell on a Friday in 2016 and at 2:15 that afternoon, John Cronin leaned over a keyboard and pressed a button. At that moment, John's Crazy Socks sprang to life.
