The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)made it possible for John Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, to pursue his dreams and build John’s Crazy Socks. This blog honors the ADA’s lasting impact on inclusion, opportunity, and the rights of people with differing abilities—showing how one piece of legislation helped shape a thriving business that spreads happiness and empowers others.
John Cronin, co-founder of John’s Crazy Socks and a proud Special Olympics athlete, took a joyful leap into the dunk tank at Huntington’s “Summer in the Streets” festival to raise funds for the Special Olympics. Cheered on by his father Mark and the local community, John embraced the fun and adventure to support a cause close to his heart. Giving back is a core value of John’s Crazy Socks, which has donated over $150,000 to Special Olympics New York. This event is just one more example of how John and his team are Spreading Happiness™—one sock (and splash!) at a time.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at John’s Big Saturday—a fun-filled day that took John Cronin, co-founder and Chief Happiness Officer of John’s Crazy Socks, on an adventure from a classic Long Island breakfast to a wild safari, hands-on science exhibits, and delicious dumplings in Chinatown. More than just a day off, it’s a celebration of joy, curiosity, and living life to the fullest—the same spirit John brings to work every day.
