We are committed to making John’s Crazy Socks a great place to work, where people are respected and their work valued. We put people in a position to succeed and want people to be able to do their best work ever. Joining SHRM helps us achieve these objectives.”

Elizabeth M. Saitta, the newly appointed executive Director of the Long Island Chapter of SHRM said, “We are always pleased to see an innovative and forward-thinking company like John’s Crazy Socks join SHRM. We can offer them information and training on how best to develop their culture and staff and give them access to not only our members on Long Island, but our membership across the country and around the world.”

Mark and his co-founder and son, John, will be the keynote speakers at “Catch the Wave,” SHRM-Long Island’s annual conference to be held May 21st and hosted on a state-of-the art virtual platform.

John’s Crazy Socks is a social enterprise with a mission to spread happiness which they do by employing people with differing abilities, giving back and making a personal connection with their customers. The firm started in Huntington Village and now has their office and warehouse in Melville. What started with the father-son team of just John and Mark X. Cronin, has now grown to 31 people with 22 having a differing ability and they work with a strategic partner. This has created new challenges and opportunities in managing growth and supporting our staff making membership in SHRM a true benefit.

The elder Cronin said, “We are part of the CEO Commission for Disability Employment and Johnny Taylor, the CEO of SHRM is one of the founding members. We work with the national organization to advocate for the rights of people with differing abilities and we are impressed by their leadership and commitment to these issues.”

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a simple mission: spread happiness. They spread happiness by employing people with differing abilities, by giving back and by making a personal connection with customers.
