Giving Back Report for February 2022
In February 2022, we raised $8,388.47 for our charity partners. Through February 2022, we have now raised more than $496,824 for our charity partners. Giving Back is an essential part of our mission and we are excited by our ability to support others. We continue to learn that the more we can give, the happier we are.
Our Giving Pack Program
A core aspect of our mission at John’s Crazy Socks is to demonstrate the capabilities and contributions of people with differing abilities. Our Giving Back Program helps us to achieve this mission. By donating to charities like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America, we enable them to do more work on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities.
John Cronin, the co-founder and inspiration behind John’s Crazy Socks, initiated the Giving Back Program by committing to donate five percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics even before we opened for business. John is a Special Olympics athlete and knows first-hand the difference the Special Olympics can make in the lives of all involved.
Since opening, we have added a growing list of Awareness Socks and Charity Socks that raise money for our charity partners. These include our Down Syndrome Awareness Socks, which John designed, and our Autism Awareness Socks. John loves to hand deliver the donations and our staff celebrates when we announce our Giving Back totals for the month.
Event: Our Own Podcast Now Available
John and Mark’s podcast, “The Spreading Happiness Podcast with John and Mark” has dropped! Each week, John and Mark record a new half-hour episode where they discuss what’s going on with them, share good news and generally make their listeners happy. Check it out and, if you like it, please post a five-star review.
Event: John’s Birthday
John’s birthday is always celebrated at John’s Crazy Socks and, as usual, John wants to give back to his customers and to his charity partners more than he wants to receive! For the week leading up to John’s birthday, every customer received a special gift pack with every order including a free sock, mask, and some cool stickers! In addition, for every order received on February 11 [John’s birthday], we donated $1 to the Special Olympics.
Event: NY Special Olympics Winter Games
On the last weekend of the month, February 25 through 27, John traveled to Syracuse, NY for the NYS Special Olympics Winter Games. On Friday night, John and Mark were the emcees for the Opening Ceremonies. John entered the stage dancing and they made sure everyone had fun. On Saturday, John competed with his Huntington teammates in the snowshoe competition where his four-person team won the gold medal in the 100 x 4 relay. John received a silver medal in the 100-meter competition and a fourth-place finish in the 50-meter race. Saturday night, John danced the night away at the Closing Ceremonies. To celebrate, we donated $1 for every order received during the weekend to the NY Special Olympics.

Nothing makes us happier than giving back to charity. We work together with our charity partners to help raise awareness for their causes. Then we report on this activity for our customers. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you.
