John is an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, a dancer and an athlete who happens to have Down syndrome. John and Mark are sought after keynote speakers and already have a hit Facebook Live Show, so creating a podcast came naturally. During the show, the father and son team banter about what is happening in their lives, their adventures and mishaps, conversations that often lead to hilarious results. As part of each show, they give updates on their sometimes futile efforts to get in shape, share the latest news from John’s love life and tell some jokes. They also share a few good news stories from around the world.

John said, “We want people to feel good, to feel happy. We share our personal stories and good news. There is already too much bad news and controversy in the world.”

The business they lead, John’s Crazy Socks, is a social enterprise with a mission to spread happiness. They have bootstrapped John’s Crazy Socks into the world’s largest sock store. The Spreading Happiness Podcast with John and Mark is not so much a business podcast, but a down-to-earth conversation between father and son filled with warmth, humor and love.

The pair has testified twice before Congress, spoken at the United Nations and recorded two TEDx Talks. You may have seen them on the CBS Evening News, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, PBS, CNBC, the BBC as well as many local television outlets. You may have heard the heartwarming story of how John became “sock buddies” with President George H. W. Bush or the wild rumors about Bob Dylan wearing John’s socks.

“We have been very fortunate,” said Mark X. Cronin, “and the Spreading Happiness Podcast is a way of us sharing the joy we have experienced. We love it when people say that after listening to our podcast, their whole day becomes better.”

John has Down syndrome, but he will be quick to tell you that “Down syndrome never holds me back.” That can-do spirit which led him to create John’s Crazy Socks is made manifest in The Spreading Happiness Podcast. Said producer George Andriopoulos, “Listening to John and Mark is inspiring and will make your day. It is pure joy.”

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. They do this by offering socks people can love that allows an expression of one’s true self. More than half their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $475,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, they are Spreading Happiness™.
