We love World Down Syndrome Day because it is a celebration of all things Down syndrome and because people wear crazy socks to celebrate the Day. Since John’s Crazy Socks was founded by a young entrepreneur who has Down syndrome, we celebrate the day and do all we can to help others celebrate the day too.
Many schools, organizations and businesses recognize World Down Syndrome Day by wearing crazy socks and holding special events. We are here to help with socks but also a virtual visit from John, concierge services, discounts and even a fundraising program.
World Down Syndrome Day
Recognized as an international day of celebration by the United Nations (U.N.), World Down Syndrome Day is March 21. That date was chosen because having three number 21 chromosomes causes Down syndrome, thus the date is 3-21. John appeared at the U.N. World Down Syndrome Day event in March 2018.
People around the world celebrate Down Syndrome Day to raise awareness about Down syndrome and to advocate for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome. It is a day of joyous celebration with a serious message of acceptance and inclusion.
For nearly a decade, people have been wearing crazy socks to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. Colorful and creative socks express the uniqueness and joy of people with Down syndrome.
John’s Crazy Socks Can Help Your Organization Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day
If your school, business or organization is celebrating World Down Syndrome Day, we can help. We can provide socks and a visit from John. We can help you save money and even raise money for your organization.
And when you buy from us, you help us employ people with differing abilities (more than half our employees have a differing ability), give back to causes like the National Down Syndrome Society and Autism Speaks, and you help us spread happiness. Here’s what we can do for you:
It starts with socks: People who want awesome socks shop at John’s Crazy Socks because we have over 2,000 choices of socks, more than any store in the world.
Down syndrome themed socks: We have the world’s greatest selection of Down syndrome socks, many designed by John himself. And we donate 10 percent from the sale of those socks to the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS).
Arrange a Visit from John: If your organization is holding a special event, John can make a virtual appearance. During the pandemic, John is not traveling, but he can speak to your group on a video call. You can read about John’s speaking engagements or just speak with Carol (John’s Mom) and she can make it happen. You can reach Carol at 631-760-5625 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Free Concierge Services: Do you want to make a bulk purchase? Would you like to arrange special packages for everyone in your office or class? We can make that happen. We offer free Concierge Services. We can put an order together for you, arrange special packaging and arrange delivery. We will do the leg work to give you exactly what you want. Reach out to Carol at 631-760-5625 or email@example.com.
Raise Funds for Your Non-Profit: If you are looking to raise money for your organization, we can help. We offer a Charity Fundraising Program that is fun, easy and touchless so it is perfect for the pandemic. If you join the program, we give you a charity code for your organization. You give that code to your supporters. When they shop at our online store, they enter the code, and each person receives a free gift, and we donate 10 percent of the sales to your organization. Interested? Click for more information about our Charity Fundraising Program.
Special Discount Code for Your Group: Is your school or office joining in the festivities? We may be able to offer your organization a discount code that would save everybody money. To see if you qualify, reach out to Carol at 631-760-5625 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The pandemic has been a tough time for all and that includes the Down syndrome community. Now more than ever, we need to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and John’s Crazy Socks is leading the celebration. Come join us.
