Tyreek Hill, the star wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins received a fine for not wearing socks. That’s right, the National Football League (NFL) fined Tyreek Hill $7,000 for not wearing socks saying it violated the uniform rules.
John Cronin, who loves socks so much that he started his very own sock company, John’s Crazy Socks, thought that was crazy. John loves socks so he couldn’t understand why someone would not wear socks and then get fined for it. He wanted to do something to help Tyreek Hill.
If you know John, you know he is a diehard New York Jet fan. As a true Jet fan, he only wants to see the Dolphins lose, but he felt bad for Tyreek Hill. “Not wearing socks, that’s crazy,” said John.
John and John’s Crazy Socks are on a mission to spread happiness. John couldn’t stand to see Tyreek Hill getting fined for not wearing socks. So, John sent a box of his socks to Tyreek Hill.
And John sent Tyreek Hill a short video that ends with him saying, “Tyreek, wear socks. Don’t get fined.”
Now, that’s spreading happiness.
About John’s Crazy Socks
John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than half their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $650,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, they are Spreading Happiness™.
