John’s Crazy Socks Introduces a Line of Athletic Socks

John here. I am so excited to tell you that John’s Crazy Socks is now offering our own line of Athletic Socks. These are great socks that you can wear every day. I wear them at my soccer practice and when I am practicing basketball for the Special Olympics, but you can wear them any time. I wear them when I am walking around town.

John with the J's Athletic Socks

John’s Crazy Socks is already the world’s largest sock store with more sock choices than anyone else. Last year, we introduced our own line of socks, our J’s. Now, we add our Athletic Socks. We give you even more choices and take care of all your sock needs. We want to be the one-stop shop for all your sock needs, the place where you get socks you love, socks that make you feel happy, socks that let you join us in spreading happiness.

Here’s what our designers say makes our J’s athletic socks so great: “They are moisture wicking, breathable and offer arch support and cushioning with a performance fit.” I just say they are great socks because they are so comfortable, feel so good and look so good.

Let me tell you a little bit more about how we came to make these athletic socks.

We First Started Selling Other People’s Socks

When my father and I first opened John’s Crazy Socks in December 2016, we only sold other people’s socks. We found great socks that I loved made by people like SockSmith, Sock It to Me and Blue Q. And people loved the socks.

Then We Made Our Own Awareness Socks

Right after we got started, I went looking for a Down Syndrome sock but no company made one. That’s when I said, “we should make one” and designed the world’s first Down syndrome sock. We called it our Down Syndrome Awareness Socks because it celebrated people with Down syndrome. And we donated money from each pair sold to the National Down Syndrome Society and ACDS, where I went to preschool.

We started making more Awareness Socks like our Autism Awareness Socks and our Cerebral Palsy Awareness Socks. These socks celebrate people and raise money for our charity partners like the Autism Society of America and United Cerebral Palsy.

Making Our Own Line of Socks: Our J’s

As time went on, we started making more of our own socks. We wanted our own designs and our own great socks. Socks that we knew would spread happiness. We call our socks J’s because when you hold up one sock, it looks like a J. And my name starts with a J. (My Dad wanted to use his name, but who would buy socks called M’s?)

It is so cool that we have our own line of socks at John’s Crazy Socks. I love our J’s, they are so comfortable and look so good and more than ever are helping us spread happiness. Customers love them too and have given John’s Crazy Socks over 30,000 five-star reviews.

Our J’s Athletic Socks

Now, we are introducing our J’s athletic socks. I am a Special Olympic athlete and wanted us to offer athletic socks. And we heard from customers that asked us to make athletic socks. You can get them as crew socks (that’s what I like best) and no-show socks (that’s what my mom and brothers like the best).

Here I am wearing our athletic socks:

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than half their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $640,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, we are Spreading Happiness™.
