John and Mark X. Cronin Speak at Staff Enrichment Conference in Wisconsin

John and Mark X. Cronin, co-founders of John’s Crazy Socks, kicked off the staff enrichment conference at the ARC Fond du Lac in Wisconsin. The organizers asked John and Mark to provide inspiration and encouragement to set the tone for a rewarding day.

Jessica Kimball, Director of Programs at the ARC and organizer of the event thought their speech hit just the right notes. She wrote, “John and Mark know how to keep audiences engaged through both comedy and by showing a serious passion for what they do. It not only inspired our staff to purchase socks but reminded them the work they do is so valuable, and what we can accomplish is endless.”

Jessica went on to share, “We were all listening so intently and enjoying the discussion so much… Words I heard used were “inspiring,” “inspirational,” “thought provoking,” “encouraging us to continue growing.””

John Cronin said, “We enjoy speaking at staff conferences. These people work hard and make a difference every day. They deserve our support.”

Mark explained that he and John often speak at staff gatherings. “Some event organizers want us to speak on creating an engaged workplace and the power of a purpose-driven business. Others, particularly those that provide services, want us to share some inspiration and encouragement with workers who are too often underappreciated for the challenging and important work they perform.”

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than half their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $650,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, they are Spreading Happiness™.
