We are excited to share that you can find socks from John’s Crazy Socks at Esteamed Coffee in Cary, North Carolina. We share a mission with Esteamed Coffee to employ people with differing abilities. They are now carrying our own line of socks called J’s, that include our famous Awareness Socks, are now available for retail stores to carry.
John Cronin, cofounder of John’s Crazy Socks, said, “We love what Esteamed Coffee is doing and I am so happy that they now carry my socks. They hire people with differing abilities, people like me, and show the world what is possible.”
John and his founder and father, Mark X. Cronin, made a video to welcome Esteamed Coffee to the John’s Crazy Socks family. You can watch that video here.
Esteamed Coffee: More than Just a Coffee Shop
Esteamed Coffee is a welcoming coffee shop in the heart of Cary, North Carolina. They are not just a coffee shop. Esteamed Coffee has created a community on a mission to lower the 70+% unemployment rate for people with disabilities by creating meaningful job opportunities for people with intellectual, developmental, communication and/or visual impairments in a warm supportive environment.
Like any great coffee shop, Esteamed Coffee offers hot and cold drinks and delicious muffins, brownies, cookies and pastries. But there is so much more. Visit the shop and you will see artwork created by artists with differing abilities. And they employ a dozen people with differing abilities. A non-profit, Esteamed Coffee is supported by more than 30 volunteers.
Co-founder Angie Hudson told Cary Magazine, how they put their employees with differing abilities front and center. “They’re not sweeping a floor in a back room. They’re not in a warehouse doing a job that nobody ever sees,” Hudson said. “The coffee shop creates that opportunity for being seen and celebrated.”

Now Offering John’s Crazy Socks Products in Retail Stores
John’s Crazy Socks began selling socks direct to consumers on December 9, 2016. By 2020, we began offering services to other businesses with our custom socks and corporate gift program as well as our charity fundraising program for non-profits. Now, we offer socks through our wholesale channel. By working with retailers, we can reach many more customers.
John said, “We have a mission to spread happiness. The more customers we reach, the more happiness we create.”
“Entering the wholesale market and helping retail stores carry our products will allow us to reach more people and spread more happiness,” said John’s co-founder and father, Mark X. Cronin. “Our customers love our socks and they know that when they buy our socks, they enable us to employ people with differing abilities – more than half our colleagues have a differing ability. Our customers feel good about supporting our Giving Back Program – we start by donating five percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics and have donated over $625,000 to our charity partners. Most of all, buying our socks lets customers spread happiness. Wearing our socks make people feel good.”
