Suffolk County Sheriff Honors John’s Crazy Socks with Community Leadership Award

On Thursday, April 17, something  very special happened at our  warehouse store in Farmingdale. Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr. came to  visit,  and he brought an award!

Sheriff Toulon presented John and our team at  John’s Crazy Socks with the  Community Leadership Award, recognizing our commitment to entrepreneurship, community, and especially our advocacy for people with differing abilities.

I have followed your journey for many years and admire what you do,” said Sheriff Toulon.

This award  means the world to usnot just because of the honor, but because of what it  represents.

A Team Effort

John, our co-founder and Chief Happiness Officer, said it best:  This is a great honor that goes to my colleagues. They do such  great work.

We believe in showing what people with differing abilities can do. More than half of our colleagues have  a differing ability, and every day, they make our mission real. From packing orders with care to designing socks that celebrate inclusion, our team spreads happiness with every step.

A Longstanding Connection

Mark X. Cronin, John’s co-founder and father, shared his appreciation for the recognition:  We appreciate this recognition from Sheriff Toulon. I have known the Sheriff for many years. He leads with compassion and action, so this is particularly special coming from him.”

It was a beautiful reminder that kindness, leadership, and action can go hand-in-hand.

More Than Just Socks

Our mission at John’s Crazy Socks is simple but powerful: Spreading Happiness. That includes employing people with differing abilities and supporting charities through our  Giving Back Program. So far,  we’ve raised over  $800,000 for partners like the  Special Olympics, the  National Down Syndrome Society,  and  The Viscardi Center.

When you buy a pair of our socks,  you’re not just getting something cozy and colorful.  You’re creating jobs.  You’re making a difference.  You’re helping us show the world  what’s possible.

Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than  half their employees have a differing ability, and their  Giving Back program has raised over $800,000 for charity partners like the  Special Olympics and  the  National Down Syndrome Society.
