Adelphi University's 2022 Business Plan Competition took place on Tuesday, April 26 and awarded $11,000 in prize money to help three student entrepreneurs grow their businesses. John and Mark X. Cronin, co-founders of John’s Crazy Socks, served on the judges panel in assessing the student business plans and presentations.
Suffolk County Legislator Manuel Esteban visited John’s Crazy Socks to learn more about our business and what he and the Suffolk County Legislature can do to support small businesses and to promote the employment of people with differing abilities.
John's Crazy Socks is spreading happiness with their new line of Gold Together Socks that raise awareness and funds to fight pediatric campaign. The socks support the American Cancer Society’s Gold Together Campaign which honors children and their families as they battle cancer, celebrates those who beat it and supports research to defeat it.
We often say that without the Special Olympics, there would be no John’s Crazy Socks. The Special Olympics has had a profound impact on John’s development and character and it is hard to imagine that John would ever have been able to start his own business if not for the skills and life lessons he learned from competing as a Special Olympics athlete.
John puts it more simply, saying, “I Love the Special Olympics.”
December 9th fell on a Friday in 2016 and at 2:15 that afternoon, John Cronin leaned over a keyboard and pressed a button. At that moment, John's Crazy Socks sprang to life.
