Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2025

Today, we are closed today (January 2025) in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — and let’s be honest, everyone appreciates a three-day weekend.

Honoring Dr. King

Dr. King continues to be a powerful inspiration to us, both personally and as an organization. At John’s Crazy Socks, we are committed to showing what’s possible and recognizing the potential in ourselves and everyone we meet. We believe in promoting inclusion and celebrating the strengths in others — values that align closely with Dr. King’s unwavering push for equal rights for all.

While Dr. King’s iconic "I Have a Dream" speech is rightly celebrated, Mark encourages us each year to read his “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” This writing captures Dr. King’s spirit, determination, and moral clarity. You can read it here: https://letterfromjail.com.

A Three-Day Weekend

Yes, we close today so that everyone can enjoy a well-deserved three-day weekend. At John’s Crazy Socks, we work hard, but we also recognize the importance of time off to recharge and enjoy life outside of work.

The average company in the U.S. offers seven paid holidays. We go further, giving our team 11 paid holidays in addition to personal and vacation days. One of our five pillars is to make this a great place to work, and part of that commitment is ensuring everyone has the time they need to rest, recharge and enjoy the life they have away from work.

Honoring Dr. King and Enjoying Your Weekend

Today, we encourage you to take time to remember and honor Dr. King. We should not only admire what he did, but ask ourselves, what can we do to promote. Let his words inspire us to strive for a world of greater inclusion, equality, and kindness.

And of course, we hope you enjoy a relaxing and joyful weekend!
