John Cronin, the co-founder and inspiration for John’s Crazy Socks, loved going to school and loved his teachers. He is so grateful for his teachers that he often speaks of them in the keynote speeches he gives.
“I am a public speaker and my speech teacher, Ms. Klee, made that possible,” said John. He often tells people that without his life skills teacher, Dr. Murphy-Jessen, he never would have been able to start John’s Crazy Socks. And working with his Retail Teacher, Ms. Campagnoni, at Wilson Tech helped him get a head start with his business.
Therefore, it is only natural that John works with his colleagues to develop Teacher Appreciation Gifts as a way of saying thank you to the teachers we love.
“We are on a mission to spread happiness,” said John. “And the keys to happiness are gratitude and doing for others. It is important to show our appreciation to our teachers because they help us so much.”
Why Socks Make for Great Teacher Appreciation Gifts
As the school year comes to an end, many students and parents want to give a thank you gift to their teachers. Teachers will tell you they have enough mugs and pencils. The candy is nice, but they get too much of it.
Give your teachers something they will cherish, a gift they will love. When you give your teacher our socks, the teacher will love it. They will wear the socks and every time they do, they will think of you and feel good.
And you can personalize the gift. Math socks for the math teacher, book socks for the reading or English teacher. A gift bag for the fun teacher.
Gift Bags as Teacher Appreciation Gifts
John has created special Teacher Appreciation Gift Bags, one for men and one for women. Each bag comes with three pairs of socks your teacher will love. Plus, there is a note from John and some candy.
“I wanted to make a gift that was easy to give and teachers will love,” said John.
The Right Socks for Your Teacher Appreciation Gift
With over 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks lets you can find the perfect sock for your teacher, one that matches their personality or interest.
You can get socks with a big heart that read “Teaching is a work of heart.” Or opt for socks that read Teacher’s Rock.” You can choose socks that read Super Teacher. We have math socks and science socks. We have a host of book-themed socks. If your teacher has a favorite animal, you can get those on a sock or maybe he or she would like socks with a floral design. If your teacher is active, maybe an athlete or an outdoors person, you can get them some of our athletic socks.
You get the idea. Instead of offering a generic gift that is quickly forgotten, pick something your teacher will value and remember.
Reasons Teachers Feel Happy Wearing Our Socks
Remember, when you buy our socks, you are helping us employ people with differing abilities. More than half of our colleagues have differing abilities. And you are helping us Give Back. We donate 5 percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics. We have donated over $750,000 to our charity partners. Most of all, you’ll be helping us spread happiness.
Gratitude Means Giving Back
John’s education meant so much to him that he always wants to show his gratitude. He does this by giving back to the schools. He serves on the Wilson Tech Advisory Board.
John’s Crazy Socks offers both in-person and virtual tours. John conducts these tours and is especially happy when he sees students from Huntington High School and Wilson Tech where he took classes. More than 2,000 students have visited John’s Crazy Socks through our tour program. The tours are designed to inspire and encourage students as they contemplate their entrance into the workforce.
John’s Crazy Socks hosts workgroups each week from schools and social service agencies. The groups typically contain six students that visit once a week for one to two hours. During their weekly visits, the students perform a variety of tasks and observe the work in our warehouse. At the end of their time with us, we give each student a thank you gift bag.
“I love giving tours,” said John, “and I always find time to meet with the work groups.”
