We want someone who can collaborate with John in leading tours of our operations and developing programs for work groups. We also want to develop virtual presentations to enhance our offerings to those who cannot visit our warehouse. Our Discovery Guide will also help with training programs for our staff.We’re looking for someone who wants to join our team of collaborators, who believes we can work hard and have fun at the same time.
Overview
We’re in the business of spreading happiness. At John’s Crazy Socks, we show what people with differing abilities can achieve, we give back, we deliver great socks that let people express themselves, andwemake personal connections with our customers.We are looking foraDiscovery Guide who can enhance and expand the education programs we offer visitors and our staff.
This role will focus on enhancing and delivering with John our Tour andWork Group Programs. We will also ask you to help us develop training programs particularly for our neurodiverse staff. And we will ask you toassist us in applying for grant programs to fund our education efforts.
You will work closely with John, our co-founder, who leads the tours, and our Community Organizer and Warehouse Manager (a.k.a., our Lord of the Socks). Our VideoEditor can help produce videos for use as part of the Tours and Work Group experience.
TheDiscovery Guide will play a key role in helping us fulfill our mission to spread happiness and show the world what people with differing abilities can do.
Key Responsibilities
As ourDiscovery Guide,you’ll work closely with John, our cofounder and inspiration, to design and deliver educational programs, tours, and training that embody our mission. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Tours Program
Collaborate with John and our Community Organizer to schedule tour groups.
Enhance our tour offerings to create memorable, educational experiences.
Co-lead engaging tours with John,showcasing our workplace and mission.
Develop a virtual tour program for groups unable to visit in person.
2. Work Groups Program
Coordinate work group schedules with John and the Community Organizer.
Design meaningful activities for participants in collaboration with John and our Warehouse Manager.
Support hands-on delivery of the program.
3. Staff Training
Assist in developing and delivering training programs tailored for our neurodivergent staff.
4. Grant Applications
Help usidentify potential grant funders.
Contribute to preparing grant applications to support our education programs.

Details
Location: Farmingdale, NY (in-officeminimum of2-3 days per week; remote flexibility available).
Position Type:We see thisrole as part-time (20 hours per week), thoughwe are flexible on the number of hours.
