Spreading Happiness at ACDS: John Cronin Delivers Quarterly Donation

John Cronin, Co-Founder and Chief Happiness Officer at John’s Crazy Socks, returned to a place that holds special meaning in his life: ACDS, formerly known as the Association for Children with Down Syndrome. John personally delivered our company’s quarterly donation check and brought a little happiness to go with the donation.

A School That Helped Shape John’s Path

John attended preschool at ACDS. It was more than just a school, it was a place where he began developing the skills and confidence that continue to drive his life and work today. ACDS played a critical role in John’s development.

“I love ACDS,” said John. “I still remember riding the bus and feeling like a big boy going to school just like my brothers. ACDS helped me so much when I was little. It feels good to give back.”

Now an entrepreneur, public speaker, and role model, John hasn’t forgotten where he started. He knows the difference that ACDS can make for people with differing abilities and he wasn’t to support their work.

Making a Difference, One Check at a Time

This donation is part of the Giving Back Program at John’s Crazy Socks, which has raised over $800,000 for charity partners, including ACDS, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Special Olympics. Ten percent of every sale from our Down syndrome-themed products supports ACDS and NDSS.

“Giving back is baked into everything we do,” said Mark X. Cronin, John’s co-founder and father. “We’re grateful for what ACDS does and relish the opportunity to support their work.”

John presented the check to Megan Lombardo, Chief Operating Officer at ACDS. Megan warmly welcomed John, saying, “You are a role model for our students. And we so appreciate your support and generosity.”

ACDS: Lifelong Support for People with Differing Abilities

ACDS provides lifetime education and support for individuals with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. With programs in Long Island and Westchester, they serve children, teens, and adults through education, daycare, residential housing, and community services.

While John attended ACDS when it was still based in temporary space in Bellmore, they’ve since expanded their reach and impact. Today, ACDS stands as a leading advocate and service provider for individuals of all ages.
