What happens when a group of determined competitors, a rainbow of socks, and a mission to spread happiness come together in one room? You get one wild and wonderful sock-wearing contest hosted by WALK 97.5 and powered by John’s Crazy Socks!
Yesterday, Anna and Raven brought the fun with a unique challenge: see how many socks a person could pull onto one foot in just 30 seconds. It was a showdown of speed, style, and serious sock-stuffing skills. And yes, things got a little crazy all for fun.
A Rainbow on the Floor, Smiles in the Air
The scene was set with seven enthusiastic contestants, each facing a mountain of socks provided by John’s Crazy Socks. “It looked like a rainbow had spilled across the floor,” said one attendee. Colorful, bold, and bursting with personality just like our socks and the people who love them.
One by one, the competitors crouched, strategized, and launched into action. Some had practiced. Some winged it. All gave it their all. The energy? Electric. The laughter? Nonstop. The socks? Flying.
Meet the Champion: Nick, the Ninja Warrior
After two high-spirited rounds, the final three faced off in a sock-stacking finale. Who took the crown? None other than Nick—an American Ninja Warrior—who stacked up an impressive 14 socks in 30 seconds! It was an amazing scene to watch as he put on one sock after another.
Nick didn’t just win a contest. He reminded us that having fun and pushing limits can go hand in hand (or foot in sock).
Joy From Every Corner
Our very own John Cronin, co-founder and Chief Happiness Officer, joined the festivities and added his signature warmth to the event. “I loved seeing all the socks,” John said with a smile. “The people worked so hard putting them on. It was all crazy fun.”
Anna called it “so exciting,” while Raven added, “John’s Crazy Socks made this competition go. Everyone loves the socks. They’re colorful and fun, which added to the energy in the room.”
And June, one of the competitors, had a full-circle moment. “I always wear John’s Crazy Socks,” she said. “I was so excited to learn he was providing the socks today. I got to meet John!”
More Than Socks—It’s a Movement
The contest wasn’t just a fun diversion. It was a moment that embodied what John’s Crazy Socks stands for: spreading happiness, creating connections, and celebrating what people can do. It’s proof that when you lead with joy, the world joins in.
And it didn’t stop there. Before the event, Anna and Raven sat down with Mark X. Cronin, co-founder of John’s Crazy Socks, to talk about inclusion, entrepreneurship, and the joy of hiring people with differing abilities.
What do you get when you mix fast feet, wild socks, and a room full of smiles? A celebration of community, inclusion, and yes, crazy fun.
About John’s Crazy Socks
John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than half of their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $800,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, they are Spreading Happiness™.
