John’s Crazy Socks Joins the Summer Arts Festival at the Spirit of Huntington Art Center

Summer is a time for festivals and fairs and John’s Crazy Socks joined the Summer Arts Festival at the Spirit of Huntington Arts Center. John Cronin, Co-Founder and Chief Happiness officer, led a team from John’s Crazy Socks to meet with fans and supporters and spread some happiness.

Two of our Sock Wranglers, Masoom and Thomas, joined John staffing the John’s Crazy Socks table as did John’s father and co-founder, Mark X. Cronin, and his Mom, Carol Cronin, who spoke with customers about our custom sock program.

“We sponsored a sock design contest so visitors could share their sock designs. We will use those designs to make a custom sock for the Spirit of Huntington Art Center,” said Carol.

Mark X. Cronin said, “The Spirit of Huntington Art Center is such a wonderful organization delivering art classes for people with differing abilities. They create such beautiful art.”

The two organizations collaborate on an annual Fashion and Art Show: Another Face of Beauty. This year’s show will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Hecksher Park in Huntington Village as part of the Long Island Fall Festival. There will be a fashion show, art show and musical performances and all of the models, artists and performers will have a differing ability.

Making Custom Socks for the Spirit of Huntington Art Center

“Making custom socks for the Spirit of Huntington Art Center seems so obvious. And Michael suggested that we run a design contest with their artists to get inspiration for the sock design,” said Mark X. Cronin.

John said, “Michael, Diane and the people at the Spirit of Huntington Arts Center are going to love these custom socks.”

People love when they receive custom socks as a gift. And they wear them. Every time they pull on your pair of socks, they will think of the Spirit of Huntington Arts Center and feel good. That’s why custom socks from John’s Crazy Socks make great gifts.

Making custom socks is a growing part of the business for John’s Crazy Socks. Mark X. Cronin said, “We’ve made them for large companies (Google, EY, IBM and more) as well as small businesses, lawyers, doctors, and accountants. We’ve made them for charities (e.g., Special Olympics, Best Buddies, Parent-Teacher Organizations, etc.) that have used the socks to raise money. And we’ve made them for private events like weddings and sweet sixteen parties.

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. With more than 4,000 socks, John’s Crazy Socks is now the world’s largest sock store. More than half their employees have a differing ability, and their Giving Back program has raised over $630,000 for charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Autism Society of America. Most of all, they are Spreading Happiness™.
