Giving Back Report - December 2021

Giving Back Report for December 2021

In December 2021, we raised $12,030.58 for our charity partners. Through December 2021, we have now raised more than $484,221 for our charity partners. Giving Back is an essential part of our mission and we are excited by our ability to support others. We continue to learn that the more we can give, the happier we are.

Our Giving Pack Program

A core aspect of our mission at John’s Crazy Socks is to demonstrate the capabilities and contributions of people with differing abilities. Our Giving Back Program helps us to achieve this mission. By donating to charities like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society and the Autism Society of America, we enable them to do more work on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities.

John Cronin, the co-founder and inspiration behind John’s Crazy Socks, initiated the Giving Back Program by committing to donate five percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics even before we opened for business. John is a Special Olympics athlete and knows first-hand the difference the Special Olympics can make in the lives of all involved.

Since opening, we have added a growing list of Awareness Socks and Charity Socks that raise money for our charity partners. These include our Down Syndrome Awareness Socks, which John designed, and our Autism Awareness Socks. John loves to hand deliver the donations and our staff celebrates when we announce our Giving Back totals for the month.

Event: Twelve Days of Giving

There’s nothing we like better than using an opportunity for sales to lead to Giving Back to our charity partners.  This year, we started the month of December with our “12 Days of Giving”.  Each day from December 1 through December 12, we pledged an additional $1 contribution for every order received that day to one of our partners.

This promotion raised an additional $6,136.00 for our charity partners!

Here’s a breakdown of the additional monies raised for the twelve different charity partners included in this campaign:

Event: Our Fifth Anniversary and Open House Event

On December 9, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary! We have so much to be thankful for and we are grateful for the support of our customers that helped us achieve this milestone.  We have shipped over 350,000 orders to every state in the US and over 88 countries!

We were pleased to be able to celebrate with some of our local customers because we once again had our Anniversary Open House on Saturday, December 11.  We had lots of customers come visit us at our offices where they could take advantage of this one-day in-person sale.  We had treats and games and Santa even visited.  In fact, John and Santa had a “ho-ho-ho off” to see who had the best ho-ho-ho.  Maybe it was the hometown crowd but, according to those in attendance, John beat Santa!  We had lots of happy customers that day and we also had a lot of fun!  Thanks to everyone who came to visit us.
