The Independence Café in West Nyack, New York is Now Carrying John’s Crazy Socks

At John’s Crazy Socks, we get to meet many people doing great work which is why we are so excited that the Independence Café is carrying our socks. Located in the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, New York, the Independence Café employs people with differing abilities and carries products made by businesses led by or featuring people with differing abilities. It is truly a Unique Boutique.

The Independence Cafe: A Unique Boutique

The Independence Café is operated by Bridges, a community-based, peer-driven, cross-disability, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advocacy and leadership on behalf of people with disabilities.

John and Mark X Cronin, the co-founders of John's Crazy Socks, recorded a video thanking the Independence Café and cheering on their mission.

“I love what the Independence Café does,” said John Cronin. “They are showing what people with differing abilities can do. They are helping change the world.”

Mark added, “We are so appreciative that they are carrying our socks. Their customers will get great socks – we have over 30,000 five-star reviews – but they are doing so much more. When the Independence Café customers buy our socks, they help us employ people with differing abilities – more than half our colleagues have a differing ability. Each purchase supports our Giving Back Program that starts with us donating five percent of earnings to the Special Olympics. We have already donated over $635,000 to our charity partners like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, the Autism Society of America, and United Cerebral Palsy. Most of all, wearing our socks makes people feel happy, so each customer is helping us spread happiness.”

John and Mark sent a letter to the Independence Café saying, “Thank you for inviting us to support your mission. We would love to visit your store so we can let more people know about the Independence Café. Thank you for helping us spread happiness.”

Now Offering John’s Crazy Socks Products in Retail Stores

John’s Crazy Socks began selling socks direct to consumers on December 9, 2016. By 2020, we began offering services to other businesses with our custom socks and corporate gift program as well as our charity fundraising program for non-profits. Now, we offer socks through our wholesale channel. By working with retailers, we can reach many more customers.

John said, “We have a mission to spread happiness. The more customers we reach, the more happiness we create.”

“Entering the wholesale market and helping retail stores carry our products will allow us to reach more people and spread more happiness,” said Mark X. Cronin.
