John’s Crazy Socks Donates to Maggie’s Mission to Help Children with Pediatric Cancer
John Cronin, co-founder and Chief Happiness Officer at John’s Crazy Socks, delivered gift packs with socks and goodies to Maggie’s Mission on Saturday. Maggie’s Mission was founded to honor the memory of Maggie Schmidt, a young woman who passed due to a rare cancer. Her family established Maggie’s Mission to fund research into pediatric cancer and to support children and their families as the children undergo treatment.
John said, “It makes me happy to deliver these gifts. I want to do everything I can to make children in the hospital feel better and be happy.”
The gift packs donated by John were added to tote bags full of goodies that Maggie’s Mission delivered to the Ronald McDonald House in New York City.
Maggie’s Mom, Donna DeSousa-Schmidt, wrote, “Teamwork makes the dream work! Thank you John and John’s Crazy Socks, for your kindness and support of Maggie’s Mission and Ronald McDonald House New York. It’s so nice to team up for a great cause. We know the families will appreciate everything in their holiday care packages. Tis the season to keep those toes toasty.”
John’s co-founder and father, Mark X. Cronin, said,” We are appreciative of this opportunity to support the work of Maggie’s Mission. Maggie’s family has taken an unimaginable tragedy – losing a child – and turned it into positive action. They truly keep Maggie’s spirit alive. We will look for ways to support their ongoing work and to collaborate in the future.”
Supporting the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer
John’s Crazy Socks is committed to supporting the fight against pediatric cancer. John has introduced a line of Gold Together Socks that raise awareness and funds to fight pediatric campaign. The socks support the American Cancer Society’s Gold Together Campaign which honors children and their families as they battle cancer, celebrates those who beat it and supports research to defeat it.
As part of that effort, John has delivered socks to children at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago and Cohen’s Children’s Hospital on Long Island.
