Giving Back Report for January 2018
January, which we expected to be slow after the holidays, was a very busy month for John’s Crazy Socks. We’re proud to report that we raised $9,135 in January 2018 for our charitable partners—our second largest donation ever! As always, it is you, our customers and supporters, who make large donations like these possible. Thank you.
Our Giving Pack Program
Giving Back remains a central tenet of all that we do here at John’s Crazy Socks. Part of our mission is to raise awareness for, and to elevate people with, Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. By donating to charities like Special Olympics, the Autism Society of America, and the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), therefore, we make good on this mission every single month.
John Cronin, the co-founder and inspiration behind John’s Crazy Socks, helped design the Giving Back Program when we opened in December 2016. He decided that 5 percent of our earnings should be given as a monthly donation to Special Olympics. John also helped to create a series of Charity and Awareness Socks. Each sale of our Charity and Awareness socks results in a per-unit donation to a specified charity. Little makes John happier than personally delivering these donations to the charitable organizations.
Giving Back – January 2018
This report covers sales and activities from January 1 through Jan 31, 2018.
Giving Back to the Special Olympics
We pledge 5 percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics and while we have closed the books on Fiscal Year 2017 (our accountants are busy), we donate money each money to the Special Olympics. In May of 2017, we also introduced a Sock of the Month Club and pledged 5% from all Sock of the Month Club sales to the Special Olympics. In addition, each sale of Shark Socks and Polar Plunge Socks also results in a donation to the Special Olympics.
We were delighted and shocked by January’s high level of commerce. Subscriptions to our Sock of the Month Club continued to grow. We donated $3,263 from our Sock of the Month Club subscriptions alone. Altogether we raised $4,011 for Special Olympics in January:

Nothing makes us happier than giving back to charity. We work hand-in-hand with our charity partners to help raise awareness for their causes. Then we report on this activity for our customers. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you.
