United StatesJohn’s socks hold a special place in my family’s hearts. Our dear cousin Johnnie who also had Down syndrome passed and this tragedy has left my aunt (Johnnie’s) Mom devastated. When we discovered John’s Facebook we instantly fell in love with everything John’s Socks represents he also reminds us of our Dear John and this makes our forever mending hearts smile just a bit. Unfortunately since his passing my aunt does not like to celebrate Mothers Day but every year since his passing I have boughten my aunt a plant just a little gift to remind her she should always celebrate because she will always be John’s mom no matter what. When I saw the Mother’s Day box I just had to get this for my aunt. The box arrived with no sender information (my fault) but the card said “Happy Mothers Day.. Love John” she said her heart instantly dropped & fell to the floor sobbing and crying. She was trying to understand the who, the what & the wait this can’t be from my John. I got the notification the package was delivered so I called her to ask if she opened the package I sent, she started to cry & say “WAS THIS FROM YOU”? Yes it was Auntie Eileen I knew I just had to get this for you! She said you have no idea the way I felt when I read that card it said FROM JOHN!! She didn’t say it but I know it hurt she hasn’t seen those words on a card in some time. We shared a few tears of sadness.. a bit of a silence on the call but then she said she Absolutely loved loved every single thing in that box! She said it was a very special Mother’s Day and I knew in my heart she needed that. The socks were beautiful & we will forever support John’s Socks!
