Created by our founder, John Cronin, in January 2017 [one month after he started this business], this sock was the world's first Down syndrome awareness sock! This is the design that started it all! Over the years, we have used the iconic 3 Heart 21 iconography on additional products - socks, blankets, stickers, cards - but the original is timeless.
Always available in the signature blue [because blue and yellow are the traditional colors that celebrate Down syndrome] but also available in yellow and pink. These socks are sublimated [not knitted] which means that the design is printed on a blank sock form. This not only lets us highlight the intricate design and colors, but sublimated socks are great for folks who are bothered by the seams and threads in knit socks.
We wanted the Down Syndrome Awareness Socks to be colorful, fun and beautiful. The 3-21 represents both World Down Syndrome Day (March 21) and the extra chromosome that people with Down syndrome carry. Most of us are born with 23 pairs of chromosomes, but people with Down syndrome are born with a full or partial extra copy of chromosome 21, thus 3-21.

Our Down Syndrome Awareness Socks honor the contributions, achievements and struggles of people with Down syndrome. We donate 10% from the sale of every pair of these socks to support Down syndrome advocacy. Our donation is split between the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) and ACDS, a local social service organization serving children and adults with Down syndrome, autism and other developmental disabilities.
