Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Hi, it’s John and Mark.

We haven’t gone anywhere.

After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.

This pause is intentional.

We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.

In the meantime:

  • Our custom socks and business services continue
  • In 2026, we will reintroduce our Sock of the Month
  • We can’t wait to show you what we are working on to make the store even better.
  • Our broader mission lives on through Abilities Rising

Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

We’re building what comes next.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

American Sign Language Athletic Crew Socks

American Sign Language Athletic Crew Socks

We are big fans of anything that celebrates the inclusion of persons with differing abilities in all aspects of our daily lives.  Without ASL, persons who have speech or language difficulties would find it difficult to communicate with others.

The first-ever winner of our Sock Design Contest, Sierra Sapack, submitted her design with hearts and a hand displaying the American Sign Language gesture for "I Love You." We produced her winning design as a knit crew sock.  A few years later, we used Sierra's design for inspiration for an athletic version of the sock.  Not only is the message in this sock meaningful, but these athletic socks offer optimal support and breathability for any activity!

These socks celebrate people who are deaf and use American sign language. And they will raise money for our charity partner, the Lexington School for the Deaf. Ten percent of the sale of these American Sign Language I Love You Crew Socks is donated to Lexington School for the Deaf.
