Why Socks Are the Perfect Father's Day Gift From a Son Who Knows

By John Cronin, CEO and Co-Founder, John's Crazy Socks

Father's Day is one of my favorite days of the year.

I know you might expect me to say that. But here's why I really mean it.

My dad, Mark, is my business partner. He is my co-founder. He believes in me. He gives me confidence and strength. And every single day, we get to do something we both love together. We built a business. We made something real. And we get to spread happiness while we do it.

So, when Father's Day comes around, it gives me an opportunity to show my Dad how much I love him.

And I know something about finding the perfect gift for Dad. Because every year, I have to figure it out too.

This year, I am getting him a brace for his knee because that hurts him. And I am giving him our football socks because we watch football together. I have learned that the best gifts are personal gifts, gifts that come from the heart.

That's why I believe that our socks are the perfect Father's Day gift. And I'm not just saying that because I sell them. You get to pick out socks that are just right for your Dad.

Dads Are Hard to Shop For. Socks Make It Easy.

Dads can be hard to buy for. They say they don't need anything. They never tell you what they want. And if you ask them, they say, "Oh, anything is fine."

Socks solve that problem.

Dads actually wear them every single day. But they're also personal. You can pick a pair that fits his hobbies, his sense of humor, his favorite team, his love of food, his passion for the outdoors. A good pair of socks says: I picked this for you, specifically. And that feeling is everything.

It's Not Just a Gift, It's an Experience

At John's Crazy Socks, we pack every single order with care. Your dad won't just open a plain box with a pair of socks inside. He'll get a thank-you note from me. He'll find some candy in there. He'll see the name and photo of the Sock Wrangler who packed his order.

It's a moment. And those moments are what Father's Day is really about.

You're Giving a Gift That Keeps Going

Socks stay around. Every morning when Dad gets dressed and reaches for that pair like our flag socks or golf socks, he'll think about the person who gave it to him. That's a small, happy moment every single day. Over and over again.

That's what I want for every dad out there.

Even better, you can give him our Sock of the Month subscription. That way he gets a dose of happiness each month in the mail, a new pair of socks that he will love. And every time he opens that package, he will think of you.

You're Also Doing Good in the World

Here's something I'm especially proud of. When you buy socks from us, you're supporting our mission. More than half of our team has a differing ability. And we donate 5% of our earnings to Special Olympics New York, an organization that means everything to me personally, because I'm a Special Olympics athlete.

So when you give our socks to your dad, you're not just giving him something to wear. You're making a difference for people like me. You're showing that business can be a force for good.

I think that's a pretty great way to celebrate a dad.

A Note About My Own Dad

I started this company with my dad. He believed in me when a lot of people weren't sure what the future looked like for me. I thought we could start a food truck, but neither of us could cook. Then I told him: let's sell crazy socks. I've loved colorful, fun socks my whole life. They let me be me.

He said yes. And everything changed.

We've now shipped over 500,000 packages to 94 countries. We've donated more than $850,000 to charity. We've created jobs for dozens of people with differing abilities. And we've done it all together, a father and a son, side by side.

That's what I think of every Father's Day.

So this year, give your dad something that makes him smile. Give him something that shows you know him. Give him a pair of crazy socks and tell him you love him.

That's all any dad really needs.
