John’s Crazy Socks Supports Charity Partners with 12 Days of Giving

At John’s Crazy Socks, we have a mission to spread happiness. Ask John how to achieve happiness and he will tell you: “Do for others and have gratitude.” In that spirit, we held our second annual 12 Days of Giving during the first 12 days of December. Each day, we highlighted the work of a charity partner and raised additional funds by donating $1 from every order to that charity partner.

Donating to the Special Olympics

Our Giving Pack Program

A core aspect of our mission at John’s Crazy Socks is to demonstrate the capabilities and contributions of people with differing abilities. Our Giving Back Program helps us to achieve this mission. By donating to charities like the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, United Cerebral Palsy, and the Autism Society of America, we enable them to do more work on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities. We have donated over $450,000 to our charity partners including over $100,000 to the Special Olympics.

The 12 Days of Giving donations were made in addition to our ongoing Giving Back Program. We start by pledging five percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics. We have then gone on to create products that raise awareness and celebrate causes and raise money for those causes. You can see our Awareness Socks and products here. In addition, we donate 5 percent from the sale of our Sock of the Month Club to the Special Olympics.

In addition to these products, we sponsor an Autism Can Do Scholarship and donate boxes of socks to charities for auctions and raffles.

We publish a monthly Giving Back Report to let our customers and supporters know the specifics of our Giving Back program. Transparency is important to us.

About John’s Crazy Socks

John’s Crazy Socks was inspired by John Lee Cronin, a young man with Down syndrome, and his love of colorful and fun socks—what he calls his “crazy socks.” He and his father, Mark X. Cronin, started the company as a social enterprise with a mission of Spreading Happiness™. They do this by offering socks people can love that allows an expression of one’s true self and by giving back, by creating jobs for people with differing abilities and by Spreading Happiness™.
