John and Mark X. Cronin Honored at the Tri-CYA Hall of Honor Dinner

At John’s Crazy Socks, we believe in spreading happiness and making a difference in our community. That’s why we were incredibly honored when John Cronin and his father, Mark X. Cronin, were inducted into the Tri Community & Youth Agency (Tri-CYA) Hall of Honor at their annual gala on March 13. It was a night filled with joy, gratitude, and a shared commitment to supporting young people in Huntington.

A Night of Celebration and Recognition

The evening began with a warm introduction, celebrating the impact John and Mark have had on the community through their mission-driven business. When they took the stage to accept the award, Mark spoke passionately about the power of inclusion and how hiring people with differing abilities is good for business. John, with his signature enthusiasm, made sure to thank his colleagues, recognizing that this honor belongs to everyone at John’s Crazy Socks.

And in true John’s Crazy Socks fashion, they didn’t accept the award alone. They invited all their colleagues in attendance to join them on stage, reinforcing the company’s belief that success is always a team effort.

Community Leaders Show Their Support

The honor was further cemented by proclamations from the Town of Huntington and Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin, recognizing the tremendous work John and Mark have done to uplift the community. The event was attended by elected officials, business leaders, and supporters of Tri-CYA, all of whom came together to celebrate the incredible work the organization does for at-risk youth.

Tri-CYA has been a cornerstone of the Huntington community for over 50 years, providing educational, recreational, social, and counseling services to young people. John and Mark’s connection to the organization runs deep, as both have served on the board and continue to champion its mission.

A Live Auction for a Great Cause

As part of the evening’s fundraising efforts, John’s Crazy Socks donated a one-of-a-kind auction experience: “Design a Pair of Socks with John.” The package included the opportunity to create a custom sock with John, receive 100 pairs of the finished product, and enjoy lunch with John himself. The crowd went wild during the auction, and this prize ended up raising the most money of the evening—proving once again that socks really do bring people together!

Gratitude and Looking Forward

John and Mark left the event feeling deeply grateful for the recognition and even more inspired to continue their mission of making the world a better, more inclusive place.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Tri-CYA,” said Mark. “Their work is so important, and we are grateful to be part of a community that believes in lifting up young people.”

John added, “This award makes me so happy! I love working with Tri-CYA and helping people. And I love making socks that make people smile!”

At John’s Crazy Socks, we are committed to supporting organizations like Tri-CYA that make a real difference in people’s lives. If you’d like to support their incredible work, visit their website and find out how you can get involved.
