After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.
This pause is intentional.
We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.
In the meantime:
Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

Our Stop Talking Socks are great for days when you can’t bring yourself to tell someone to, well, stop talking. We’ve all been there. Whether it’s an acquaintance, a colleague or an unusually friendly patron on line at the local shop, someone is sucking the life, air, and words out of the room. You’d like to tell them to close their mouth but they’ve used so many words that you’d rather not contribute any more to the surrounding area. You’re hoping silence will do the trick. They’re not getting the hint. You’re worried that if you do open your mouth, at this point you may scream. Then it hits you: a subtle gesture at your Stop Talking Socks, like an unnecessary shoelace tightening, will send the message! You kneel, full of hopeful anticipation and skillfully bump into her on the way down. She takes the bait and is about to comment on your wildly colorful Stop Talking Socks when she reads them. You make eye contact. She stops talking. Finally.
Note: "Stop talking" appears on only the right-hand side of both socks.
