Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Hi, it’s John and Mark.

We haven’t gone anywhere.

After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.

This pause is intentional.

We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.

In the meantime:

  • Our custom socks and business services continue
  • In 2026, we will reintroduce our Sock of the Month
  • We can’t wait to show you what we are working on to make the store even better.
  • Our broader mission lives on through Abilities Rising

Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

We’re building what comes next.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Camp Anchor Socks Unisex Crew Sock

Camp Anchor Unisex Crew Socks

The Camp Anchor socks celebrate the 50th anniversary of Camp Anchor. The camp serves over 600 individuals with differing abilities ranging in age from 5 to over 70 years old. We love Camp Anchor and the work they do, We donate 10 percent from the sale of each pair of the Camp Anchor socks to Camp Anchor.

The Camp Anchor socks were designed by a camper named Alex. Her design was chosen from among dozens of designs submitted as part of a contest at Camp Anchor to celebrate the 50th anniversary. John traveled to Camp Anchor to thank Alex and give her the very first pair of Camp Anchor socks. (See the photo below with John and Alex.)

As part of the contest and the celebration of Camp Anchor 50th anniversary, John Crazy Socks donated 600 pairs of socks to Camp Anchor. The camp sold those socks and raised close to $10,000 for the camp.

Camp Anchor is a full service day camp sponsored by the Town of Hempstead. They serve 600 campers with 200 pair staff and over 300 volunteer staff. They share our mission of showing whats possible and focusing on what people can do, not what people can't do.

Thank you to councilmen Anthony D'Esposito for bringing John's Crazy Socks & Camp Anchor together
