Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Hi, it’s John and Mark.

We haven’t gone anywhere.

After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.

This pause is intentional.

We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.

In the meantime:

  • Our custom socks and business services continue
  • In 2026, we will reintroduce our Sock of the Month
  • We can’t wait to show you what we are working on to make the store even better.
  • Our broader mission lives on through Abilities Rising

Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

We’re building what comes next.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Ryan and AJ's Dancing Bananas Crew Socks

Ryan and AJ's Dancing Bananas Crew Socks

Ryan & AJ Ravestein

Over the last year, as Ryan was repeatedly hospitalized to treat a malignant brain tumor, including a craniotomy and three stem cell transplants, her brother AJ found himself without his sister for the first time. Restricted from spending time together inside the hospital due to Covid precautions, the brother-sister duo started sending each other artwork, and one of those art pieces eventually won the Resilience Gives' sock design contest! Every pair of Dancing Banana Socks purchased is matched with a donated pair to a child in the hospital.
