Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Hi, it’s John and Mark.

We haven’t gone anywhere.

After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.

This pause is intentional.

We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.

In the meantime:

  • Our custom socks and business services continue
  • In 2026, we will reintroduce our Sock of the Month
  • We can’t wait to show you what we are working on to make the store even better.
  • Our broader mission lives on through Abilities Rising

Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

We’re building what comes next.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Freesia Cotton Crew Socks

Freesia Cotton Crew Socks

Solmate cotton socks have been knit with recycled cotton yarn. The yarns are created by recovering the scraps from the production of other cotton products, mainly t-shirts. All of the little cotton scraps are gathered together and ground up so that they can be spun into yarns for Solmate Socks. Additionally, the recycled yarns are certified by Made in Green (www.madeingreen.com) and Oeko-Tex (www.oekotex.com). This means that the materials used are certified to be free from harmful substances (i.e., toxins like formaldehyde), made with respect for the environment and with respect for human rights.
