Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Hi, it’s John and Mark.

We haven’t gone anywhere.

After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.

This pause is intentional.

We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.

In the meantime:

  • Our custom socks and business services continue
  • In 2026, we will reintroduce our Sock of the Month
  • We can’t wait to show you what we are working on to make the store even better.
  • Our broader mission lives on through Abilities Rising

Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

We’re building what comes next.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Rayguns Youth Crew Socks

Rayguns Crew Socks

We can't help daydreaming about the adventures of Flash Gordon when we see these Rayguns Youth Crew Socks. The year is 1934. Alex Raymond has just published the first Flash Gordon comic strip to compete with the wildly successful Buck Rodgers. Kids everywhere are going absolutely bananas over these heroes of the galaxies.  Over subsequent years, he would go on to travel to Mars, conquer the universe, and then be played by Sam Jones as Queen's Freddie Mercury boldly belted out that he was the “Savior of the Universe.” Not bad for a hunky graduate of Yale.

These socks show that the wearer is an ambitious dreamer that is ready to take the universe by storm.  While these Rayguns Youth Crew Socks may not have the ability to shoot laser beams, they show that the cool kid wearing them has the ability to become the next Flash Gordon.  Are you the savior of the universe for the 21st century? Pull on these Rayguns Youth Crew Socks and you'll be ready to tackle any challenge.
