After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.
This pause is intentional.
We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.
In the meantime:

This sock was inspired by the 2023 winning sock design in our annual Sock Design contest. We wanted to celebrate the environmental benefits of planting trees! Not only do trees reduce climate change, they purify our air by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen.
The inspiration for this sock was the design submitted by Jerome Scriptunas of Freehold, NJ.
These socks will raise money for our charity partner, New York Restoration Project. Ten percent of the sale of these Plant Trees Athletic Crew Socks will be donated to New York Restoration Project, a nonprofit nature conservancy stewarding parks, community gardens, and green space throughout New York City. They believe that everyone deserves access to clean and green open space no matter where they live.
These black athletic knit socks feature the silhouettes of three different trees. They are not only incredibly comfortable, they are also strikingly beautiful! And they raise money for a terrific organization! These are perfect to wear on Earth Day!
