Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Wait, What Happened to the Store?

Hi, it’s John and Mark.

We haven’t gone anywhere.

After nine wonderful years of shipping socks around the world, creating meaningful jobs, and spreading happiness, we’ve decided to pause our direct-to-consumer online store.

This pause is intentional.

We’re taking time to reflect on everything we’ve learned, streamline what worked best, and rebuild the store so we can be stronger, more focused, and even more joyful. When we return in 2026, it will be with an updated version of John’s Crazy Socks, rooted in the same mission we’ve always had: spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.

In the meantime:

  • Our custom socks and business services continue
  • In 2026, we will reintroduce our Sock of the Month
  • We can’t wait to show you what we are working on to make the store even better.
  • Our broader mission lives on through Abilities Rising

Most importantly, John’s Crazy Socks is not closing.

We’re building what comes next.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

We can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

Pi Socks Men’s Crew Sock

Pi Socks

If hearing the word “pi” makes you start counting numbers instead of thinking about pizza or sweets, Pi Socks are a mandatory addition to your sock collection.

Rajan Mahadevan became the unequivocal master of pi in 1981 when he was able to recite an astounding 31,811 digits solely from memory.  Hideaki Tomoyori wasn't having any of it, and in 1989, he smashed the record with 40,000 digits.  And then Lu Chao recited 67,890 digits in 2005.  Today, records are being set for over 70,000.  But did any of them have their own Pi Socks? We doubt it.

With these Pi Socks, you'll be able to have 32 of those digits right by your 10 foot digits.  Sure, even if you memorize those you'll still be about 70,000 digits away from the record, but at least you'll be able to take a step in the right direction. Plus, you'll be able to show everybody that you are dedicated to your pursuit of pi-fection.
