Shoot for the Moon Socks
Shoot for the Moon Socksremind me of a movie that has recently won top awards around the world, as well as the U.S. La La Land was never expected to be this sort of phenomenon—and the Oscars are yet to come, with 14 more nominations. Its 32-year-old mastermind is Damien Chazelle, who stepped out in faith, despite the warnings and dire predictions of those in the film industry. The premise was “outdated,” and a contemporary musical? These days? This young man felt he could take the qualities of movies created before he was born, and reinvest them with spirit and energy, pulling the past into the future. Chazelle had a vision, as did his two characters in the film. By its conclusion the young lovers have achieved much, but not without sacrifice. The musical illustrates, too, that there is always some magic in love and our desires.
The Shoot for the Moon, If You Hit Mars, Bonus Socks speak of dreams and determination. The bright splashes of color on these socks are also a contemporary “portrait” of today, depicting fun and success. When we aim high, we are bound to succeed, because what is failure but a lesson and a step towards success? Wearing my Shoot for the Moon Socks says there’s nothing wrong with hitting Mars if it brings me to another, better way to reach for what I want. Putting our attention on what we don’t want is dwelling on the negative, while keeping our goals in sight frees us for the moon and the magic.
Our Shoot for the Moon Socks are truly an inspiration. We can put them on in the morning and spend the day with all kinds of distractions, but when we stop to contemplate their message, we can attract the abundance that is there for each of us, reaching the moon and each other.
Note: "Shoot for the moon. If you hit Mars, bonus," appears on only the right hand side of both socks.
