Bookkeeper – Part-time

We’re in the business of spreading happiness. To do that, we need to make sure that our books are accurate, that we pay our suppliers promptly and that we have a clear understanding of our finances. We have built a social enterprise with both a social and business mission. To make the social mission go, the business has to succeed. We seek a bookkeeper who can help make the business succeed.   

As our bookkeeper, we will ask you to do the following:

  1. Manage financial records using QuickBooks Online
    1. Calculate necessary journal entries for payment processors
    2. Reconcile all accounts monthly
    3. Maintain the chart of accounts
    4. Maintain orderly financial records
  2. Manage accounts payable
  3. Manage petty cash
  4. Manage expense reimbursement for staff
  5. Manage sales tax including remitting sales tax to state governments
  6. Track actual results with budgeted results
  7. Produce financial reports
    1. Produce standard financial reports
    2. Produce financial analysis
  8. Manage Payroll
    1. Submit payroll files to our payroll processor
    2. Add and delete staff from the payroll files
  9. Tag and monitor fixed assets
  10. Assist our external account and auditor as necessary
  11. As with any startup, there will be other responsibilities as we grow

Here are the requirements for the job:

  1. A four-year college degree is an absolute requirement
  2. Demonstrated ability to use QuickBooks online
  3. Experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
